Best Ways to Save a Long WhatsApp Chat as One Image
WhatsApp does not have a scrolling screenshot feature of its own, so saving a long conversation usually means either exporting the chat as text, or taking several screenshots and combining them into one image so it reads naturally from top to bottom.
Option 1: Export chat (text only, no images or formatting)
- Open the chat, tap the contact or group name, then Export Chat.
- Choose whether to include media.
- This creates a text file, not an image, which is useful for records but not for sharing a visual conversation.
Option 2: Screenshot and combine (keeps the visual look)

Tips for a clean chat screenshot
- Hide the status bar and notifications before capturing, so timestamps and battery icons don't repeat awkwardly in the middle of the image.
- Scroll a consistent amount each time so messages don't get cut off between screenshots.
- If you only need part of the conversation, start scrolling from that point rather than the very top of the chat.
